Design is a product of the mind, not of the hand or the eye.
Along with designing their website, BodyWorks wanted a logo for their new office and new beginning. They wanted to incorporate a glyph from the chinese I Ching in the design. The first link takes you to some of the early design work, rendered all in grayscale as is my process; this avoids the client’s instinctive focus on color to the exclusion of all other aspects of the design, as well as ensuring the design looks good in the lowest fidelity medium, and is visually distinctive for people with colorblindness. The second link takes you to the final presentation of designs in color. The logo was delivered in EPS format for use at any size, along with web formats, and included a branding manual.

Further Interactive is a small web development shop in Virginia. I was contracted to design a logo for them which would be usable on business stationery as well as on their website. This is a presentation of several logos and variations which the client requested to see after an initial round of pen and paper sketches.

This is a video filmed and edited by me to prepare corporate leaders for a major restructuring in RWD’s corporate operations. The time frame for developing the video was very short, especially with the effects that were described in the script. All work was done in Photoshop, Premiere and AfterEffects.

The homepage of BodyWise Physical Therapy (bwtherapy.com). The site is a custom theme for the open source WordPress blogging/CMS platform. I designed the logo with customer input and review, delivering a branding manual as well as color palettes with the logo. All artwork, UI design and grpahic design for the site were developed by me.
The homepage for The ARC of Howard County (archoward.org) All artwork, UI design and graphic design were created by me. This site is accessible hand-crafted XHTML, with all animation and interactivity, as well as the updating interface designed and developed in JavaScript & jQuery.
This is the homepage of The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (aaml.org) All artwork, UI design and graphic design for the site were created by me. This site was developed in XHTML with JavaScript and a touch of Flash. The backend for the site is SavaCMS, a ColdFusion-based open source CMS. With the exception of the Flash map on the homepage, all interactivity, animation and effects are done in HTML, JavaScript & jQuery.
Building on the award-winning onboarding training for RWD Technologies, I developed 42 of these Flash/ActionScript modules for an extension of onboarding to a specific operating group within RWD. Originally specified as a classroom/online blend, the course was eventually delivered fully online, with the modules linked together via a SharePoint portal. I designed the SharePoint pages with blog and wiki features to support the required cooperative exercises and social activities of the course. Uses AS3, XML, Flash timeline animation, SharePoint & ASP.NET.

This is an old branding prototype for a sales course. I worked on Richardson Company courses for most of the time I was at RWD. One of my last projects at RWD was re-developing this course in AS3 & Flex.

This is from the prototype of a Point-of-sale system training emulator. The emulator mimics the functions of the POS terminal used by Kenneth Cole Associates with e-Learning content overlaid via the tabs on the right side of the interface. Uses AS3 & XML.

This is part of the onboarding training for RWD Technologies. I developed 30 of these modules for a self-service user-directed course for new employees. Uses AS3, XML, & Flash timeline animation. This course was an Honorable Mention winner in the 2007 Brandon Hall e-Learning Awards.
